  • Previous #2 recruiter in the US at ConsenSys, venture studio that invested in ETH based startups.

32 & focused on the following in my 30s

  • will babymaxx to create a family of future WNBA players
  • helping those around me to get into their LANES (positive feedback loops)

some ideas I believe in and remind myself of

  • It’s rare for any stimulus to have a universal effect
    • science is a story of complexity, nuance, not of all or nothing
    • but also: pick which side you fall on & defend that side as objective truth
  • you can improve your own baseline by 500x
    • This goes for wealth, health, relationships, attitude
    • note: do more, see more, lead more ... b/c it's later than you think
  • your angst ceases to exist when you f*** with who you are
    • it’s not you against the world, it’s you accepting your internal state aka your LANE
    • you know that you're in your own lane when who you are externally, matches who you are when you're alone
    • also don’t kill the part of you that is cringe. kill the part that cringes.
  • human to human bottlenecks are communication constraints (written, spoken, nonverbal)
    • online communication tip: try to lean towards saying things online to ppl you like vs being shy to maximize serendipity
    • irl communication tip: you have your own unique flavor, universal signature, and you know that you're staying true to yourself when you expose that flavor/signature to the external world which will poke back (not every1 will like it)
      • you'll find that you'll turn most away as if they discover your flavor. optimize your life to find the few that are obsessed with your unique signature.
  • MMORPGs like Tibia & RuneScape are training grounds for reality
    • i realized from playing thousands of hours that i can just do this irl and that my virtual effort will scale IRL
    • society has similar game mechanics that reward gamers 500x
    • also, scct is the goat
  • stamina underrated > intelligence overrated
    • my business partner and I joke that we just need more energy
      • would you lower your IQ by 10 points in exchange for abnormal energy?
  • give the NBA a chance (even if you hate sports)
    • watching sports allows us mortals to observe world-outliers in a controlled environment w/o real stakes
    • that's pretty cool b/c you can easily identify the top players & assume their level of obsession is beyond comprehension
    • obsession is a key ingredient to accomplishing anything world-class
      • pick a few teams to follow
      • watch their entire games (don't just save yourself time by watching the final plays)
      • this is how you'll internalize the nuance of the ebbs & flows of one game
      • otherwise it's no different than skipping a great song to only get to the end
  • work where other people can see your work
    • Optimize for visibility and impact with your work
    • Then learn how to make your impact shareable (write, post videos, collect emails)
    • If you cannot build things you can show at work, you should build things you can show outside of work
  • be upfront with your intentions
    • tell people what you intend vs asking for forgiveness after the fact
    • worst case they tell you to not do it and you don’t do it
      • "Should I start a side hustle without my company knowing?"
    • but don't apply this with women 24/7. aim to be direct with men, indirect with women. discern when to break this rule.
  • the web leaks alpha (health, wealth, relationship alpha)
    • most people will read something that is alpha (notable advantage if you know it & exploit it) , disregard it as "crazy", and move on while calling that alpha a scam/lie
    • you'll randomly stumble upon casual genius spilling knowledge for free
    • default to believing & investigating
  • dream jobs exist
    • my dad once asked me what I wanted to do when I grow up (I was maybe 14). I told him that I will work with the richest people possible, learn their ways, and become rich myself.
    • I have the belief that you could just apprentice/work with any one you want in the world
      • but you can't do what everyone else does. apply to 100s of one click gigs on Linked1n, indeed, and pray to allah the almighty that you land 1
      • will update this one with an open doc b/c I have gotten every job I ever truly wanted. So the skills for this one extrapolate way beyond "how to land a job" & require me to cook in a doc.
